Put in your home's value and see your new property tax.
40% more from last attempt, but not enough signatures to qualify. Details here.
In recents years we have seen print at home petitions. The petition link is shared, you print, and mail. If everyone were to share the link and tell their network to share the link, we could reach the required number of signatures to get on the ballot. (This is a physical paper - any online petition is not a legal means to change CA law.)
We are a grassroots non-partisan volunteers fighting to restore our Prop 58 Parent/Child property transfer rights.
WE NEED TO KNOW WE HAVE SUPPORT. IT'S URGENT YOU SIGN UP, SO WE KNOW HOW TO REACH YOU IF WE ATTEMPT ANOTHER PETITION DRIVE. You do not have to volunteer in the traditional sense but only ask that you talk and write to your friends about saving their homes. (We do not sell or use your information, other than with Prop 19).
IMPERATIVE for them to gauge the support in numbers. If they get 1 million emails, there may be a 3rd attempt. If everyone sent them back with at least 2 signatures, WE COULD MAKE IT ON THE BALLOT!
If you only want to receive Prop 19 updates add that on the Comments line. If you are already signed up with their organization this is a separate list, you need to sign up.
We have a sample you can copy/paste and text/email here.
Sheri Duffy voted for Prop 19 and now regrets it. Sheri believed Prop 19 would protect her from property reassessment and tax increases. It didn't!
Sheri lived in her parents' home and cared for them until they died. She and her brother inherited the family home and still live there. However, because of Prop 19, the home is reassessment and the taxes are unaffordable! Prop 19 did not protect her like it was advertised. Read more stories of those affected here.
Have you or someone you know been impacted by Prop 19 like Sheri Duffy?
Lost a parent or grandparent and are now facing higher property taxes because of Prop 19? Forced to move or sell your parent's home, business or rental?
Are you a tenant whose rent rose? Were you forced to move from your rental because higher property taxes led to higher rents?
Did someone you know lose their family business because they couldn't afford the higher Prop 19 taxes? The small amazing restaurant that had been in the neighborhood forever?
We want to hear your story! Email Anne at fix19now@gmail.com. Nothing makes a bigger impact than hearing about people like Sheri Duffy whose lives were hurt by Prop 19.
